Clergy/Chaplain Disaster Preparedness and Response Training
This presentation is directed toward religious leadership that may find themselves involved in the disaster scene. Material can be modified for special interests and groups. It provides pastoral role definitions, ethics of ministry, stages of a disaster, and where and when spiritual intervention would be most appropriate and helpful. Participants will receive a take-home resource copy of the material.

Those who relate to faith-based disaster response agencies, or churches with whom you might interact, also benefit from this course. In-house pastoral care groups such as Stephen's Ministers are also encouraged. This training provides an introduction to pastoral crisis intervention often as differentiated from parish ministry.

This training was created by Rev. Barnes from his own experience and knowledge. Time requirements are dependent upon the sponsor

Inward Bound
This is an interactive event that incorporates group exercises and discussion with meditation training. We will call attention to opinions we have been given and not necessarily examined for ourselves.

This event is intended as a one-day retreat incorporating awareness of the present moment, time for rest, relaxation and reflection. Opportunity for individual spiritual direction is generally offered as well.

Our purpose is the self-examination of our personal dependencies and fears leading to the development of spiritual resiliency that will help the participant survive the disappointments, betrayals, losses, and mini-disasters of life. Resiliency means mitigating effects of crisis and developing a bounce-back faith.

Participants will receive take-home resource material.
